The Desk!!!!

I have been trying to think of the format and composition for my 'day in the life of...' and i thought that it would be a cool idea to have an image of a desk with pages of torn out images scattered on the desk making up the 'day in the life of hunter s thompson' with drawn images relating to the events around the desk!

Sketches and illustrations from Steven Farrimond...his illustrations are very similar to the style of Ralph Steadman and the 'Gonzo' kind of style.

Sara Fanelli's style of illustrations are almost like a childlike, innocent style of Gonzo...i could maybe consider the style and layout of her work when I am working on my diary entries...they are concentrating more on image rather than type really.

I have looked into the sort of illustrations that suit the style and period of Hunter S Thompson...taking into consideration the whole Gonzo style which is very sketchy and free style of drawing, almost letting your mind go wth you pen and not caring about neatness or accuracy.








STATEMENT OF INTENT

I intend to create a sequence of images within the concept and idea of a diary that visually communicates a day in the life of Hunter.S.Thompson. I am going to combine ink, pen, watercolours together to create a Gonzo style of drawing suiting to Ralph Steadman(the illustrator for Hunter.S.Thompson). The images that I create I will then scan into photoshop and combine together to create the series of images.
